OBJECTIVES OF THE SOCIETY

a) Promote a sense of identity for families who have connections originating in Ukraine and those who have been affected by such origin.

b) Encourage individuals and families to research their family tree.

c) Provide assistance to individuals or families who request help with their ancestral lineage.

d) Encourage individuals to write their personal histories as well as those of their ancestors.

e) Function as a historical resource center to collect and preserve the family history of our heritage for future generations.

f) Emphasize the value of Ukrainian language, through the written and spoken word.

g) Encourage fellowship on a local, provincial, state, national, and international level.

h) Encourage the formation of genealogical chapters promoting the preservation of Ukrainian heritage.

i) Collect family histories, pedigree charts, family group sheets, books, manuscripts, pertaining to Ukrainian genealogy and heraldry.

WHO WE ARE

Dedicated individuals searching our Ukrainian lineage. Sharing our successes in a societal formation to leave a legacy for future generations. A Society formed June 22,1979. Film #458 - Document #25 with Consumer & Corporate Affairs Canada.

WHY DID WE ORIGINATE?

With each generation there is a growing urgency to provide descendants of Ukrainian pioneers with information about their heritage. Preserve the genealogical links lwith Ukraine. Maintain a resource center of data to research family lines.

WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD?

A resource center for family surname registry. We strive, to maintain communications with Ukraine and provide access for interested members to research original sources. Encourage all Ukrainians to record and submit their lineage to the Society and join the world's largest family tree as a tribute to our Ukrainian pioneers who left Ukraine and settled in many parts of the world.

SERVICES OFFERED

• Collecting recorded family histories, pedigrees, and family group records on paper, books, CD's, Video, and other media. And act as a backup source for this data in our Resource Centre.

• Pre 1914 large-scale map plates of Galicia/Halychyna Bukovina are very detailed to find every village. (Scale of 1 cm = 2km) Each plate costs twelve dollars plus S&H.

• A surname search through the family registry and other sources are available.

• Encourage everyone to join as a member of the Society (UGHS). Annual year is the date you join, fee is $20.00.

• In communication with Genealogical & Historical Societies, who in turn, are aware of our services.

• An invitation to all: We are available for lectures, displays, promotions, family reunions, seminars, and private sessions.
